Chelsea marched towards the semi finals of the Carling Cup with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool side who had Peter Crouch sent off.
Lampard scored for Chelsea at the 59th minute when his strike was deflected in off Jamie Carragher. One minute later, Peter Crouch was sent off with a reckless tackle on John Mikel Obi.
Chelsea wrapped the match up when Andrivy Shevchenko powered in a shot from an acute angle after a pass by substitue Michael Ballack.
