It seems to have gone past very quickly, but the end the season is at Everton tomorrow, in a game which has a 3:00 pm kick off.

In fact all games in the Premier league tomorrow have the same KO time of 3:00 pm, so by 5:00 pm we’ll know who the Premier League Champions are, and also who the 3 teams being relegated are.

We have no preference about the relegation teams, although Roy Hodgson will have done a tremendous job if he can keep Fulham up.

We think it would be good for the league if Chelsea somehow managed to win the league, just to spread it around a little bit between the top 3 clubs. A little variety, since the 17 other teams never have a chance of winning the league.

Newcastle will be without the injured Mark Viduka, who rather surprisingly may be out for up to 6 months following his Achilles tendon operation, and Joey Barton cannot play, because of his bail conditions. James Milner is short of match practice, and we also understand he will not play.

Kevin will have the chance to play someone in midfield in place of Joey Barton, and since Emre is off to join Turkey for the 2008 European Championships, we’d like to see N’Zogbia given a shot at that position.

With uncertainty surrounding Charles’ future it could well be his last appearance for the club, whether he starts the game or is used as a substitute, but we expect him to play at some stage tomorrow.

Up front we hope Andy Carroll gets a well deserved start, but we have a sneaking suspicion Kevin will start Alan Smith.

We hope not, in all honesty, but if Alan does start, he needs to start scoring goals, since he still hasn’t scored for Newcastle, although he did score in pre-season. Kevin sees him only as a striker and the striker’s role is to score goals. Sorry to be so pedantic.

The game tomorrow is another complete sell-out, and after Everton lost at Arsenal last weekend, they need a single point to confirm a fifth place finish and a UEFA Cup spot.

This is also another chance for us to record a double, since we beat Everton 3-2 at St. James’ Park last year, when Emre came on after 74 minutes and scored one (after 84 minutes) and and made the winner for Michael Owen (on 90 minutes).

This is the team we hope Kevin put out tomorrow:

Harper
Beye Taylor Faye Enrique
Geremi Butt N’Zogbia
Martins Carroll Owen (c)
Subs: Forster Edgar Cacapa Duff Lua Lua

It would also be good if young Kazenga Lua Lua was given a run-out

For Everton Mikel Arteta (stomach), James Vaughan (knee) and Tim Cahill (foot) are all out injured.

Everton: (from)

Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines, Valente, Carsley, Neville, Osman, Fernandes, Pienaar, Johnson, Yakubu, Anichebe, Wessels, Rodwell, Gosling.

It would be great to finish the season with a win, but you can be sure Everton will not want to end their season with a defeat, and the possibility that Aston Villa will beat them to 5th place.

We have 43 points so far this season, which equals last season’s total, which was the worst ever in the Premier League.
But Kevin will have the lads going all out for the 3 points, you can bet on that.
