Fiorentina scored one goal in each half by Fabio Liverani in the 38th minute and Daniele Cacia in the 81st minute.
Rosenborg scored a consolation goal through Yssouf Kone in the 88th minute.

Viola means ‘violet’ in Italian, i.e. the color of the Fiorentina jerseys.
