ManCity, stunned by the stunning goal by Cole, kept the pressure on West Ham. ManCity were rewarded when Darius Vassell scored eight minutes later.
It seems that, Vassell was offside but the linesman did not notice of that. The goal stood which send the fans wild.ManCity kept the momentum in the first half with attacks after attacks but could not find a way through. Bianchi had a decent long range shot which was saved comfortably by Green with ease.
Many thought ManCity will keep the pressure in the second half just like the first. It turn out to be that West Ham were more interested to attack. ManCity had no choice but to sit back and defend. Ljungberg had a few good opportunities to square the ball to his partners to score but he selfishly took a shot which missed all the time.
In the end, ManCity defense proved once again that they are a good defensive unit. A 1-1 draw is a fair result for both teams.
